Obituary:

Thelma “Pat” D. Ledbetter 71 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.



Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd at 11:00 am from the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Herbert Shafer officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery rural Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 10 until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Henry County Animal Rescue in her memory.



Pat was born on August 20, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of Don R. & Lucille N. Schroeder Myers. She married Delmar K. Messer in 1960, she then later married John Ledbetter on April 7, 1990. She worked at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, coins and Santa Clauses. She was very interested in family genology, her pets and grandchildren.



She is survived by her husband John of Mt. Pleasant, her children: Randy Messer and his wife Jenny of Norwalk, Iowa and Deb Messer of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Three grandchildren: Andrew and Joanna Messer and Ashton Brown. Her sister: Helen Miller of Summerfield, South Carolina and her brother: Don Myers of Winfield, Iowa.



She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
